Street Parking Permit
Hello,

Where can i get one of the blue spot parking permits?!

I live in Eaux Vives and recently bought a car.  I would like to park it on the street in one of those blue areas.

Thanks!

Kyle

I didn't fill out any forms, I just went to the local police department and asked for one! And they gave me one then and there with no payment needed.

Kyle,

There was a bit of confusion about what you needed. The Police gave you (for free or course) a disk that you use in the Blue zones. It gives you ONE hour of free parking between 08:00 and 11:30 and from 13:30 until 18:00. If you arrive between 11:30 and 13:30, you can park until 14:30. If you park from 18:00 to 0:800, you are good until 09:00. Sundays are free so you can park all day.

If you overstay your time, you will get a parking fine.

Tinkie was telling you where you can get a sticker or "macaron" which allows you to overstay the one hour limit. These stickers are for residents who live in the neighborhood. You have to prove where you live and fill in the form (she gave you the link). It is useful to have a macaron as they only cost CHF 180 for the year and you can park all day in the area where you live.
