Sushi in Geneva on a Sunday ?

OK seriously I've been here for a year now, and no chance in hell I can find Sushi open today.

Anyone know of a hidden gem I don't know that will get me sushi like... now?

There's a place next to Soleil Rouge a block up from Rive. Excellent opening hours. :)

I don't know the name, that's why I didn't put one. But here, a google search of: sushi geneve dimanche

turned up this:

http://www.ekai.ch/restos.htm The ones at Bourg de Four and Micheli du Crest are open Sundays.

and for any other type of food, this is a good page to bookmark:

http://www.resto.ch/dimanche/index.php?lg=fr

you just have to scroll down to your postal code.

If I walk by the sushi place tonight, I will check on the name. :)

Apacat:

We thought of featuring Ekai on BuyClub, but could find very few reviews about them so weren't sure if they're good. You're a regular client there?

Alright gents - I got myself my sushi finally.

Sushi Kirin on Rue de Neuchatel - Its sitting in the fridge waiting for my craving to take over (while I watch my giants demolish the Eagles (touch wood)).

Place looked good enough, and its situated just out of the hooker/drug dealer radius haha.

Just a quick follow up...

I am glad Andy H got his sushi.

I walked by the sushi place on blvd Helvetique, it is Restaurant Wasabi and they are no longer open Sundays, BUT they are open 10-22h Mon-Sat which isn't bad.

Hope everyone is enjoying a great Sunday night!

Just a few thoughts on sushi in GVA,

so far best sushi is

Nagomi (in Paquis) - great restaurant - small portions for the price but fantastic

Wasabi (see above Miss Kate) - best take-out/sit-down sushi in town.  It was a tad bit better when it first opened but still takes the cake. I've found nothing beats them when you order their rolls freshly made...

As for Ekai - it's good and functional.  But I stopped going there once Wasabi opened last year.

Any other sushi suggestions (outside of sushi train) please let me know! I'm also looking for a good Dim Sum place...

Thanks :)

Any other sushi suggestions (outside of sushi train) please let me know!

My personal favorite: Tanuki, 5 rue Vignier  (small street between Plaine de Plainpalais et rue de Carouge).

It's a take-away (=decent prices), however you can eat your fish next door (café Livresse) as long as you order a drink.

Nothing fancy, but delicious sushi made by a genuine Japanese chef.

Dude it took me two weeks to come up with the guts to reply to your post.

I was so upset I was on the phone with my girlfriend and just had to hang up and call her back.

It's particularly funny, if you look at my two home towns. I went through this with Bayern against United a decade ago, and then again two weeks ago.

Ugh. But the sushi was alright - I'm going to get more now.

I know you got your sushi, but EKAI delivers by the way so it is not even necessary to go there - I have ordered a few times :-)

Dim Sum - Le Madarin 1-3 rue de Chatepoulet. Great for brunch on Sunday. Not to be confused with the Oriental Mandarin hotel.

In Versoix at the lake is a really good sushi place (Uchino) as well, I found the fish of good quality. Misuji in Plainpalais is good too.

As a Hong Konger - best dim sum place must be Hung Wan on quai du mont'blanc. Just ask for the dim sum menu - that's authentic dim sum for Chinese. http://www.hung-wan.com/presentation.htm
