i formed my swiss company " SA" and sold it after 10 yrs.
also you can buy an unused SA ( much cheaper) or create an SARL.
depends what you want to do.
if i can help so you can speak with some prior knowledge to a "Notaire" only the notaire is needed to create an SA. not a lawyer.
much cheaper of course.
cheers,
roger

Hi Mike,

before spending the extra bucks with a fiduciary, you may want to check this out:

In French: http://www.geneva.ch/guide_matieres.htm
In English: http://www.geneva.ch/genevaguideintro.htm

As epicure pointed out, you only need a notary to incorporate your company, plus the administrative fees of the Registre du Commerce.

Please also feel free to send me a message, I work in a fiduciary... ;o)

Cheers,
Pikachu

Hi All,

I was wondering, in general as a contractor/consultant, do people form 1 person companies as a way to invoice the client and then pay themselves, like they do in many other countries ? or is it not a cost effective approach ?

for example due to requirements that you have to have a physical office rented, and pay large fees etc

I was looking into having a company payroll me to do my invoicing and pay me a salary, but the charges are too high so I want to look into establishing my own company to do this.

thanks

jason
