There is (or certainly was) a large toy shop on rue de la Conféderation (tramline road) on the left as you walk down from Rive. Big choice and probably have Swiss wooden toys but then a three year would probably no appreciate the origin or the material

I know a 3 year old cannot appreciate the origin – you made a point - but that’s what the parents suggested Paul…

Thanks for your help guys.

What about a swiss wooden toy very personal hand-made creation?

A three year old kid is so excited to see one parent make on a spot from a piece of wood (SWISS wood from the Alps or Jura forest of courseWink ) a moke-up electric drill and/or a truck (faster to shape than a car) and/or a sheriff badge with inscription...He immediately guesses he is getting a unique one-of-a-kind piece  and is proud of it. So is the parent and the kid is also developing his creativeness. The very Swiss minded parent will try achieving such a collectible  art piece using a swiss knife, you know with six or seven built-in Laughingtools

At 3 years old a kid will be perfectly happy just with the piece of wood and a length of string which could be achieved with a two piece Swiss army knife. Penknife to cut the string and screwfriver to insert some king of fastening.

Much less hassle for the parent of great fun for the kid if let use near the family china - an outdoor version would be best
