TPG to fix the tram and bus issues they caused last year......allegedly.

I think it is quite fresh in most of our minds, the chaos and standstill TPG's makeover caused to the city last year, so to say my roars of insane laughter unnerved my wife this morning is an understatement. My laughter? Caused by the radio interview with some guy at TPG on WRS. another 30 changes enroute..

The best news is, 'its not fixing the problems of last year, its evolution of the system', how naive of us to think there was a problem with this epic Swiss system.

All I can say to the new folks in town, is: batten down the hatches! Bring a thermos, warm clothes and walking boots, no i'm not talking about a weekend hike, i'm talking about getting to work on public transport. Me, i'm staying in bed, vacation time I reckon.

All the info is here: http://www.tpg.ch/web/10162/362

Will they be doing this just before Christmas, like they did last year?

But of course, and Christmas 2013 too. It's clearly going to be a situation of 'jamais deux sans trois'.

If my reading is correct, 19 and 6 will be available also on the evening and on sundays.  (I think it means after 10 pm ? )

No changes for me too.  My bus will still be block near carouge when it rains or it snows....

Yeah, I had a good laugh about this.

The 5 which was probably the only positive change last year is no longer going to run through Pl Eaux Vives. (but hey, welcome to the 25 which will get me to Cornavin but nowhere near the V or Z, or the airport)

The 9 is still not going to go through Cornavin in one direction, nor is its frequency going to be increased.

Eaux Vives is still screwed in terms of direct access to Cornavin. No bus or tram from above Pl Eaux Vives will get you there in a reasonable amount of time. Please, do not tell me to take the 1, the most useless of all bus routes in the city.

God, I swear, the TPG looks at my commute and tries to figure out ways to make it longer and give me more chances to miss a bus.

The 15 tram route from Nations to Palettes works very well, there just are not enough trams or carriages. Never any seats and at rush hour they are down right dangerous through overcrowding. TPG said there would be more trams.....

Becuase of the over crowding on the 15 tram, people from Pregny, Genthod etc stay on V and the Z bus to cornavin, these are now also over subscribed. With only 4 buses an hour (even in the rush hour), makes this journy a nightmare.

I hope they review this soon, from my perspective, routes are fine, just need more buses and trams !.
