I am looking for a NICE solarium, clean, a place that changes bulbs regularly...
Any good places? prices? any kind of monthly membership available?
Thanks
Alexis

Bain de Paquis.. the Sun.
Bulb change every 10 billion years. UV-sunglasses also needed for the natural tan ;)

If only I could go back 15 years and "untan" myself...
@Richard: why?
@Richard: why?
Skin damage, though I will confess that I burned a few times. That didn't help.

I dont burn, and I spent my childhood in Hawaii, if im getting skin cancer, its already determined. I dont tan my face for fear of wrinkles, and more importantly...Geneva does not have the climate to retain a year long suntan that I am accustomed to. Although the question wasn't on the dangers of UV tanning.
Richard: If you have hyper pigmentation from the sun you need to use something with hydroquinone to bleach the skin.

Lexi:
It's not "already determined", whether you get skin cancer or not at some point. It's a probability gradually and automatically increasing over your lifetime, and your own actions raises or lowers it during this time.
About using hydroquinone (benzene, phenol) for skin bleaching: "This use is banned in some countries, including the member states of the European Union under Directive 76/768/EEC:1976." The EU is not known for being very harsh with chemical manufacturers, so if it's banned in the EU, I'd stay away from it. The FDA isn't too happy about hydroquinone, either. Also, pigmentation is a protective reaction against the sun, albeit not very effective.
About skin cancer: The damage to skin from UV-radiation (whether UVA, UVB or UVC) is largely irreversible and accumulates over time. Some of the most sensitive areas susceptible to permanent damage are the eyes (merely closing your eyes in a sunbed is completely insufficient, as both infrared and UV pass the eyelids) and genitals (thin skin, so keep them panties on, if tanning).
Read this overview from WHO.. excerpt: "A study conducted in Norway and Sweden showed a significant increase in the risk of malignant melanoma among women who had regularly used sunbeds." Malignant melanoma, not worth the risk.
Up to you.. but I think the best advice you can take is not tanning, except naturally and in moderation. Especially, since you grew up in a high-exposure area.
Now, back to your question: I don't think, there are any "nice" sunbeds 8-)
Incidentally, I'll go for a walk in the sunshine now :)
