I'm looking for a taylor in the Geneva area that could do some minor modifications (shorten pants and the like). Does anyone have any recommendations?

And you don't need a tailor for that. Almost anybody with a sewing machine can do it. There are a couple small "ateliers" on rue des Paquis, you can just walk in.

Alterations to clothes are called “retouches” and many dry-cleaning shops (and some laundries) have a sign in the window offering this service. It’s also available and cheaper in France.
