You mean team building for companies? How many people? English-speaking or French? How fit are they?

I assume you know the standard options (bowling, karting, painball). Around Geneve there are hiking trails and you can ski, but if it's for a company that will not suit everyone.

If you want an event in the local wine region (e.g. excursion, introductory wine tasting course and dinner) I can help you to arrange things.

I'm pretty sure there are other facilities (e.g. creative, cooking classes), but they may be in French - is that an option?

Hi Edward,

yes, I know the standard options :)

Was looking for something more "outside the box".

I was thinking about cooking, but the idea of wine tasting sounds great as well.

This would be a team of max. 7 people so I think paint ball or something similiar would not be an option?

cheers

Marek,

You could try this place. www.chex.ch Not sure if he's still going but give him a call.

It's a one day cooking course with an English chef in Eaux-Vives. We did it a few years ago and it's a real team effort. You choose what you want to cook, Thai, French, Indian, then split into groups, cook the starter, main and dessert and eat what you made together at the end. Feedback was really good from everyone who went.

This makes a good alternative to pouncing around cheese factories or pot-holing which we did one year - result was two women completely freaked out with one being signed off sick after!

Good luck

I know of a fabulous wine tasting evening in Carouge... I can help arrange it if you like?

It's in English and the wine is all natural, so even the most knowledgable in wine will learn something new... and the wine is delicious.

We did a company evening out go carting in Annemasse, was fantastic.  www.on-kart.fr/ was the spot, very well organized.  It all depends what you want, true team building type activities, or a fun day out to create a bit of a buzz.  We went for the latter.

I teach wine courses here in the region and if you are interested in a wine tasting event, I would be happy to provide some information to you.  During a wine tasting event we would first go through the steps on how to approach a glass of wine:  sight, smell, and taste.  Then I would lead you through a tasting of the "Big 6" wines:  Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot, and Syrah.  I will also give you a little information on each region the wine is from.  At the end of the class I would give your team a wine to taste and as a group you will determine different aromas and tastes of the wine and guess what the wine is.

Let me know if you need more information, and good luck finding an event!

For something creative and fun I suggest a photography workshop at

http://www.espaceL.net

They have a programme of courses but provide tailor-made days for groups. Their approach is not technical at all, it is more about learning to look at things differently, finding unexpected angles to stuff. The space is fabulous, modern - totally unexpected for Geneva, more New York feel to it -  and the old industrial quartier where it is situated provides gets visual imagination going.

There is also studio facilities for portraits and still life. and there is a full digital photo laboratory, so everyone gets to take away a real piece of art with them at the end of the day. I ve seen some stuff people have produced just with basic digital pocket cameras there after couple of hours exhange with the photographer giving the course and results are just amazing...
