Telephone, Internet and Swisscom TV Installation

I'm sorry if this duplicates an earlier thread but I can't find the information I'm looking for.

I've just moved and I have taken a phone, internet and Swisscom TV package. I plugged my phone in and nothing happened, I tried another phone and still nothing happened, I tried ANOTHER phone and still nothing happened.

The letter from Swisscom talks about needing to get an electrician in but I don't know why. I'm looking for someone who can hook up the phone, internet (WiFi router) and Swisscom TV all at the same time. Or, if it's REALLY straightforward, I'll have a go myself.

Does anyone have any recommendations/suggestions?

Thanks in advance, Hazel

If you just moved in, probably Swisscom needs to "activate" your phone line. When my friend moved, they had to send someone to do this in a box outside the appartement - just give them a call and they will explain why it does not work.

I've just called swisscom now to do the same thing for our apartment.

If they don't have a number on file for that apartment already, they don't know which apartment in the block to send the phone line etc to. So you need an electrician to check in the electrical box which line actually goes to your apartment, and let them know. Once the electrician calls swisscom they should be able to activate it straight away

Bringing this topic back to life because I have the same question now. So I´m getting my internet/tv set next week and also got an e-mail saying that I need to get electrician to plug it in. Really???? They asked me who was the former tenant, so they should know the right apartment allready. So do I need an electrician or can I just plug it in myself?

hi,

i got the vivo casa package from Swisscom just few weeks ago.

it was confusing to plug in all and activate it. aha first step Swisscom forgot to send us the purple plug for fix line phone and wireless internet and we had to wait for one more week then my husband called to Swisscom client service and i assist him on plugging ... I prefer you dont call electrician if your apartment already has a fix line telephone even if with UPC cablecom not Swisscom. what you need is to call Swisscom and provide the name of previous tenant and they will activate your line.

good luck,

They allready asked the name of the previous tenant at the shop so I guess it might be activated allready? So I will try to do this on my own, if it doesn´t work, then I´ll call for help :)
