Temporarily Moving Cantons

Hello,

I am moving back to the UK soon, but may need to move from Nyon(Vaud) to Geneva for a month or so first.

I currently work in Versoix. What would I need to do for this? I need to deregister in one canton and reregister in another? And for Tax purposes what happens? I guess my employer needs to change address for a month aswell?

In addition, because it's temporary, would it make sense to just leave it as it is?

Thanks

Jon

I'd leave it .. My GVA permit and paperwork took nearly 3 months to arrive.

Tax and medical insurance cost more in GVA than VD too, I moved in the other direction and was well pleased to save nearly 200chf per month (family of four) on medical.

Nothing happens here within a month, you'd be chasing up loose ends from the UK months from now!

Agree, can't us just stay that month in Nyon somewhere ? so you have no need of changing everything that is liked to your address/canton ?

You will save a couple of headaches

Good luck,

I was trying to find a temporary place in Nyon but found a great place much closer to my work and cheaper. I cant stay in my current place as I promised the landlord Id be out at the end of this month. It could be as short as two weeks that Im actually there.

Thanks for advice, Ill leave it as it is then!
