Tips on getting an apartment in Geneva
Hello,

Does anyone have any tips on how I can raise my chances of getting an apartment here? I heard that it was going to be difficult but I didn't think it would be THIS difficult. I'm single, have a reasonably good paying job, have all the papers needed, I don't know what I could be doing wrong. HELP!!

When you apply at a régie for an apt you really like, have your employer do a follow-up call a couple days later (depending on how long it is until the régie must make the decision). That will signal that you have a safe job, as your employer cares, and it will single out your application from the anonymous pile on the desk.

have you tried to go to the regie offices and hand in your applications in person? that way your application will be less anonymous, and they'll hopefully have a positive image of you (if you made a good impression on them of course...) in their heads when they're making their decision. also, it makes you seem eager. and it doesn't hurt to get back to them again to ask about the apartment. i tried these approaches, and they seemed to help in two out of three cases.

Good luck!:)
