Tough to find a job in Geneva
Hi everybody,

I've been looking for a job in Geneva for 3 months, but still nothing. I did several interviews, but I found out that the international competition here is strong, there are a lot of very qualified people.

I'm using all the ways: job search engines, agencies, companies websites etc. but I'm aware of the fact that the network and the word of mouth are always extremely helpful, also because not all the vacancies are advertised anywhere, and they just find someone who knows someone and so on.

That's why I'm posting here, if you hear about some open positions in marketing or online marketing, please do let me know. I have quite a good CV, business marketing degree, 2-years experience in multinational companies at EMEA level, computer literate.

If I don't find anything I will have to leave Switzerland soon, I hope this is not going to happen.

Thank you in advance for any tips.

Hey Fede,

Good luck on the job hunt, I know it ain't easy.

There's other social networks out there that are focused on business networking, much more than glocals.com (which is focused on social & daily life stuff). You probably tried them already, but if not, check out:

Good luck!

Nir

I think in Geneva a high percentage of vacancies are filled through networking , I know that my company pays a finders fee to employees who find someone for an open position.

Putting your details in the Market Place might trigger someone into remembering an internal position that hasn't reached the agencies yet. I'm just checking mine now .. finders fee for summer break would be nice :D

Trev:

If you get the finders fee, via this glocals contact, then as one of the guys who set up glocals I demand a fee of your finders fee. I need a summer vacation too! (-;

well if you want to get a finder fee you can "use" me by recomemnding me to your company if the role has something to do with marketing ;)

Thanks for the links Nir, I visit those websites every day.
