Training hikes (1000mt elevation) for Mont Blanc

Hello everyone,

We are a small group of people who started training for the Mont Blanc next year.

We hike once a week on the Jura (Thoiry side) and the goal is to do 1000mt elevation once a week. We are looking for motivated people to join us, as winter is coming and the task is going to become harder, with the cold weather approaching, the brouillard, the early wake ups etc...

Location: meetup at Tiocan, start at 6am. it takes about 2 hours to Reculet (where the cross is, 1710 mt) and back. By 9am we are all back in our offices.

Who is interested? And what would be the best way to organise ourselves here on Glocals? We also intend to add some crampons training, and altitude training later down the road.

Any input is very welcome, and ideas of experienced people who would like to take us on crampons/altitude routes from early next year.

Cheers.

Count me in, but only during the weekend. I've done the reculet several times, it's a good hike and good training too!

I am very interested as I wanted to do Kilimanjaro. Is there any way to car pooling with someone to the destination? I live in Plainpalais.

Hi Kris, I've done Kilimanjaro in 2010, I can give you some advice and tell you about my experience. Perhaps it has changed since 2010 with new routes, but the mountain remains the same :)

What time? In the morning I go for a conference.

But in the evening I am free unless I am giving a boxing training.

Otherwise, Sundays I great unless I go to swim in Bain de Pacquis.

Great initiative Laura:)

I'd love to join , but it's a bit tight to be back in Grand Lancy where I live by 8h30 to be at work at 9am.

If you organize anything on the weekend, I'll join you.
