Training partner: Cycling / Running on weekends?

Hi,

I moved here a short time ago. I like riding my racebike a lot!

Unfortunately I had to pause for many months this year and I am not in shape any more :-(

Now I'd like to start again but I guess I need someone who helps me not to overdo it. Maybe 2 or 2 1/2 hours with 28 km/h in the flat. I'd prefer to ride with a partner rather than with a group as I have to avoid crashes for a while.

Is there anyone who would like to ride with me on saturday afternoons or on sunday? I am German and I speak English and also some French.

I am looking forward to any answers!

Greetings,

Matthias

Hello -

I am a bit too slow for you guys, and don't have my racing bike here... but if you find some nice routes with well-paved roads, could you let me know?  Every ride I've tried so far has been plagued with potholes :(

Last sunday I was surprised that it gets so quiet directly behind (east) of the United Nations, the Russian and American embassies. The houses and roads are very pretty, nice villas and so on. I circled though this part for an hour or so on my second tour starting in Geneva.

Simply go up uphill from the broken chair in front of the UN.

Hey Matthias, this time of the year the best thing to do is to bike up the Salev or the Jura. Climbing a 1000+ m-ish keeps you warm enough. :) If you ever get out towards the Nyon area I can show you a nice road up the Barillette.

Cheers,Tibor

Yes, I have already climbed up the Barilette, Salave and the Col de la Faucille a few years ago. Two weeks ago  climbed the Barilette with my car ;-)

Guys, I have to tell you that this weekend is not good. I was a little ill the last few days and life was pretty busy. I need to relax.

Maybe next weekend.

Hello, out there!

I have some friends coming to visit the first week of September.  I am not a cyclist, but they are fanatical cyclists and they would like to go for a ride of about 60-80 km (from Vevey area).  Does anyone have any suggestions for a great ride or would there by any chance be a group going out on Sunday, September 2 or Monday September 3rd that they could join?

Thanks very much!

Vicki

Hello,

I am answering a bit late, but I am interested! I often ride 3.00 25-30 km/h on week ends.
