Travel Clinic/Vaccinations for Kenya

Hi all...

I am thinking about taking a trip to Kenya.  Does anyone know of a travel clininc in Geneva and/or what vaccinations I will need.   Any idea on how much they cost?  Thanks.

Kat

There's a vaccinations clinic in the university hospital (HUG) (between Plainpalais and Champel); I've been there about 2 years ago to get my vaccinations. I can't remember details but I'm pretty sure you can just walk in and get the info you need.

hey, an advice, go in advance, as some vaccines take a bit of time before they're effective :)

(my brother went to brazil few months ago and only cared to visit them the day before leaving, he had to miss out on the whole amazonian part of his trip because of an issue like that...)

Ysabel...any idea how many days/weeks in advance is generally necessary?  We (Kat S. and I) are thinking about going around 15 July, but am now concerned it may already be too late???  Also, any idea what these vaccinations cost?  THANKS!

Vaccinations have to be taken 10 days before you travel. I am not sure about the exact cost, but I would assume in the region of approx CHF 200.- but not 100% on that. You can definitely go to the Geneva University to get it done though :)

For my brother it was someting between 10-15 days, I can't recall . And one of them was 2 shots, a few days apart, but maybe that's one you don't need. Would really suggest you go asap (tomorrow?) so they can tell you and you can fully enjoy your holiday! Kenya is AMAZING!!!

I think it's the tetanus that requires 2 vaccinations, one week apart. I'm pretty sure you need that for Kenia, since I got it when I went to that part of Africa.
