Triathlon training and clubs?
We have just moved to Geneva and we'd like to find triathlon clubs or people keen to do cycling and running training!

Also any suggestions for good swimming pools for training and running or cycling routes would be great.

Thanks

Hi abuckley and welcome to glocals

Members Swiss and Kassari organize Marathon training activities, so contact them, or check out the Member Activities section to see what's coming up.

Thanks, and enjoy Geneva

Hey!

Cycling I can help with a little. You could try the routes linked at the bottom of this page. The routes and countryside are excellent. Of course you could run them as well if you are hardcore (insane).

Hi, and welcome too!

I am also new to the city, but found a good swimming pool (actually 2).

I swim at the Varembe pool (http://www.ville-ge.ch/sports/Plaquette2007/PVAREMBE.html), is 33mts long (not sure why) and sometimes gets very crowed...but still manageable.

I will try the Vernets (50mts) next weekend, in the hope of finding less people per lane.

Hope that helps,

M

Also, as regards swimming pools, can anyone tell me whcih bus goes to the Varembe and Vernets swimming pools? Merci! E.

Hi all,

I am also interested in a tri club.  Although I am not super fast or experienced, I love to compete.  I have been swimming at the Piscine de Vernets.  It is a 50m pool and is very clean.  Depending on what time of day you go, it does get crowded.  It is 6 CHF per visit or you can buy 10 visits for 50 CHF.  I have been running with Geneva Runners...they meet on Monday and Wednesdays at 7pm and Saturday at 10...all levels, distances, etc.

Hi! I was wondering if Lausanne had a triathlon club and how often they trained? I have heard about the Lausanne Olympic distance triathlon, but i am moving to Lausanne for 3 months next winter so I was hoping to get involved with triathlon!

Hi,

Did you ever get the answer as per the recommendation between genevatriathlon and trigeneva? I'm looking at joining one... any recommendation?

Thanks,

Miguel

It's a great group. Try it out. Unfortunatelly I can't run at the moment (...) but did a lot of marathon training with them last year. Meeting: every Mon, Wed and Sat in front of the Bain des Paquis.
