Tribune de Geneve: TPG Manager Shot and Killed at TPG Bachet-de-Pesey Office

On Monday morning , according to the newspaper report, a French native who worked as a manager at the TPG main offices in Bachet-de-Pesey was shot and killed by an unknown assailant.

The victim, a manager in charge of infrastructure was declared dead at the scene. The shooter apparently arrived at the TPG offices around 10am by motorcycle and went directly to the offices of the victim and proceeded to gun him down.

This is the fifth homicide in Geneva since the beginning of the year. Some TPG employees are receiving psychological counseling in the aftermath of the shooting.

No suspects have been arrested and police have issued a cross-border alert.

Geneva police announced that they arrested a person who is alleged to have fired four shots in the air on the night of Thursday, August 18th at Plainpalais. The police spokesman said that no further information would be provided as long as the investigation is being conducted.

The shooting followed an altercation in front of the Ibiza Club, a discotech located on Bouleward du Pont-d'Arve. One of the persons involved in the dispute left the location and returned with a gun and shot 4 times in the direction of the other person. No one was injured.

The ironic part is that my country (a country unjustly crucified by the sensationalist media as a dangerous place) doesn't see this type of crime in cities the size of Geneva!

Shoot not even in the US or Brazil you have so much crime in a city this size.

then some agencies like reuters have the nerve to come up yearly with ridiculous lists about crime where Geneva once again ranks as one of the safest in the world!

Wow. Coming from South Africa, that really is amazing. This is absolutely terrible news, but I can't help but be amazed that there have been only 5 homicides this year. My country really needs to raise its game.
