I'm thinking of having a professional prepare my US income tax return next year, but was curious about whether it's worth it financially. Can anyone give me a general idea of how much this costs? I'm basically just talking about the 1040, 2555 and 1116 forms. Thanks.

About CH500.- Check out www.americanincometax.com
Fees are posted there and they really know what they are doing. But they are not taking any new clients this year. It would have to be for 2014.
