Ultimate Frisbee in Geneva
Does anyone know anything about the ultimate frisbee team in Geneva?  I've heard that a team exists, but I know no details about them, when they practice, and where.

Has anyone ever practiced with them?

Alternately, are there any Ultimate enthusiasts out there that would be interested in getting together for a pick-up game sometime?  I played in college a few years ago and loved it.  It's been awhile since I've thrown a frisbee, but I'd really like to get back into it.

Let me know if you have any information or would be interested in arranging something!

Hi Maria,

Another Glocals member responded and told me that some people get together on Wednesday evenings at 18h00 at Parc Barton for pick-up games.  I think I'm going to try to make it next week - you should too!

Hope to see you there :)

Check out the google map: http://maps.google.ch/maps?hl=en&tab=wl&q=parc%20barton%2C%20geneva

I've never been there, but it looks like Parc Barton is about 1 km north of the train station on Rue de Lausanne.

The ultimate frisbee team in Geneva are called the Wizards.

We practice every Monday and Thursday from 18.30 in Vessy, and there are three teams: Open, Coed and beginners (although for beginners the training is on Tuesdays).

More information on www.wizards.ch

Not really.

There is a team in Nyon that practices on Sundays

www.mange-disques.ch

Otherwise, I know at least one person on the team that lives close to Ferney so maybe you can get a ride (although normally he's on his bike). Or you can always get a ride to the train station after practice.

If you do come to practice I would recommend using shoes and not going barefoot as others might trample over your feet with their cleats...

hey, thanks for the advice, but i am from a hardcore team of barefooted cavemen!

no, seriously, i know its silly to play barefoot and i wouldnt like to for fear of damaging my ankles, the thing is, i didnt bring my runners with me. i am going back to the uk soon though and i will be sure to bring both my trainers and my boots, just in case any of u guys like to play outside even if the weather is bad...i love it!
