Understanding tax and schools

Hello,

I am hoping you can help. My husband has been offered a job in Geneva and there are a couple of concerns that i am struggling to find answers too...fingers crossed someone can help.

Firstly income tax. i know there are four taxes and various posible deductions (married, two kids etc).  I have completed a couple of calculators which give different answers and my husband has been told a different amount too, these range from 3% to 40%...a huge variance. We also are looking to live in Divonne which i believe affects tax too?  Does anyone have any advice or an english speaking number for the local tax office please?

Also schooling.  At most I think we will be in Switzerland for 3 years and because of this i feel an international would be better so the boys can transfer here and back to the UK easier?  They will be (in UK schooling) nursery and year 1 in september.  I know some people think this is a waste of money but I am concious in a local school they will start a year later and then not learn english (reading and writing) until later.  So when we return to the UK they will have no foundation english.  Please let me know your thoughts and experiences.

If we did go down the international schooling route, is it standard for you or employers to pay or 50/50?

ANY advice on the above would be great! I am coming over next week to look around so look forward to your replies Laughing
