Unemployment benefit having moved from UK

I have been in Geneva for a few months now and have only just found out that previous UK employees should be eligble to claim for u/e benefit. Does anyone know more about this? I have recently found employment on a temp basis 3 days a week but wondered if i can still claim for the other 2 days? I am actively looking for a perm job also so proving this to the authorities shouldnt be a problem.

Any advice much appreciated!

That's an urban legend. According to EU-wide agreements (even UK has signed I'm told), you can have your UK benefits paid here instead of your previous UK location. That's on the paper. Practically nobody knows the procedure. In order to qualify for unenployment benefit in Switzerland, one must have worked legally in Switzerland during 12 month at least. Temp qualifies for the total.

Good luck!
