Hi All, I have a question about importing vehicles and VAT in Switzerland vs France and also potentially claiming VAT back.
I live in France but work in Vaud. I recently purchased a new vehicle in France (2 months ago) and my wife purchased a second hand vehicle (4 months ago). Our situation has changed dramatically and we may be moving to Switzerland soon.
Will I have any liability to pay tax/VAT in Swiss when importing the vehicles and if so can I claim the French VAT back?

I'm afraid you will have to pay the Swiss tax for both vehicles since for Switzerland they are new ("new" = owned for less than six months).
I also doubt you can be refunded of the French tax, but I'm not an expert on it -- for this matter you should contact a professional that might find a way to get your money back.
