VAT reimbursement for car tyres (Feu Vert)

Hi,

Does Feu Vert in France provide a VAT claim form for car tyres? So basically can you claim VAT return on tyres that were changed in France by them?

I know the Swiss procedures and that is not a problem. Just need to know if France returns VAT on already mounted tyres (old ones in the trunk, same day boarder crossing)?

Thank you!

No, you can't reclaim VAT on parts which are installed on your car. If you bought them in France and had them mounted in CH, you could; but not if they are mounted in France.

Interested in this reply.

It's quite a long time ago now, but I did have a major service done in France once and some parts were changed. I was able to declare them on both sides of the border with no trouble and detax the parts.

Is this a different procedure from buying tyres or is it that things have changed?

Car service is still OK. At least parts are VAT deductable (no fuids or labor). I got VAT reimbursed 2 months ago but service was made in other EU country and stamped on French/Swiss border.

I know that tyres were sometimes the exception but am not sure for France.
