Good to know, I love horse meat
Much ado about nothing. Most fondues bourguignones or hot pots are made wiith horse meat which perfectly healthy by the way. Okay, they should have told us, but I understand it was an open secret.

There might be not a health issue if they sold regulated horse meat, but they were lying to their clients: saying it's beef, when in fact it was something totally different. Disappointing to see the lies, especially when coming from an association like Bains de Paquis which is perceived as doing the right thing for the right reasons.

For info, I went there couple weeks ago and they mentioned it as: viande séchée du cheval, so I can not say they didn't mention it.

Actually, I've never known the Bains de Paquis to say it was beef, it's just viande seche (the assumption is on the part of the consumer). I was there five or six years ago with a guest who insisted on meat with every meal (but couldn't have pork). When I asked at the Buvette if the viande seche was pork, she said no, it was horse. I didn't really care as long as it wasn't pork.
I didn't realize it was some big secret and got a bit of a giggle when it was a big article in the Tribune de Geneve.
