Wanted: Spanish volunteer translators

Hi Spanish speakers, YOU are wanted!!

Please do read the following message and consider contributing:

The Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) is seeking Spanish interpreters for women activists from Panama for a programme called "From Global to Local", in conjunction with the United Nations 45th CEDAW Session in January 2010, held in Geneva.

[ ABOUT THE "FROM GLOBAL TO LOCAL" PROGRAMME ]
NGO representatives attend a 2 day briefing (organised by IWRAW Asia Pacific) in the week prior to the CEDAW session (January 2010); monitor and observe the review of their government's report during the week; and interact with the CEDAW Committee members in order to raise pertinent issues concerning women in their country.

[ WHY VOLUNTEER? ]
This programme offers the volunteer an excellent exposure to women's rights activists who are working on women's human rights and to the UN treaty body processes. In addition, for volunteers who are interested in coming to the UN CEDAW Committee sessions during the week, we can arrange for UN passes.

[ WHAT IS NEEDED AND WHEN YOU WOULD BE NEEDED ]
We need whisper translation for the following days:

23 January: 9am - 5pm during the briefing at Hotel Mon Repos, 131 Rue de Lausanne (ground floor meeting room)

24 January: 9am - 1pm during the briefing at Hotel Mon Repos, 131 Rue de Lausanne (ground floor meeting room)

25 - 29 January: 5 -6pm during the debriefings at Room 819/821 Building A, Palais des Nations

29 January: 1 - 2.30pm during the NGO Lunch Briefing on Panama for the CEDAW Committee at Room 819/821 Building A, Palais des Nations

We are not in a position to pay a fee for translation but can offer a fixed stipend of CHF20 a day to cover your lunch and any transportation cost. We will also arrange for a UN pass for you (we will need your full name as set out in your passport or a government issued identification with photo. You will need to bring this document to collect your UN pass).
