I was at the beginners tango class at the Club Alpin in Plainpalais last weekend (the same place a group from here went to the milonga at, if I may postposition my prepositions). That night there was a definite shortage of men. Perhaps this is why there were girls dancing with each other or perhaps they were just really butch, I don't know. Not that I'm complaining.
Anyway, if you've done a little tango (like Katya's tango workshop) and are at a loose end Sunday evening at 18.30, think about tootling over to the Club Alpin Suisse, 1, Rue de Vieux Billard, Plainpalais (http://www.tangogeneve.com/cours.htm).
