What are the name of Home Depot like chains in France?
(e.g., in Germany there is Praktiker, BauHaus, BauMax,Brico, etc.)
Also, are there any chains like AutoZone or Pepboys (like Stahlgruber in Germany)?

don't know about in France, but in Geneva we have http:///www.jumbo.ch and also Migro's Home and Garden out at the MParc in La Praille.

BRICORAMA a bit past Carrefour and McDonalds in Segny on the road towards Gex. Also la BOITE A OUTILS near Saint Genis on the road towards Gex next to the BUT store. For the Haute Savoie area you can fined those stores too but also lots of others including LEROY MERLIN near the Annemasse airport. You may want to check out the huge area of businesses there which includes many stores. For the automotive supplies it's more difficult but there is a small selection at the FEU VERT in Ferney and lots more at NORAUTO or NORDAUTO in Anthy sur Leman by Thonon.

There's CASTORAMA near Annecy and
BRICOMARCHE near Gex on the road towards Divonne.
BRICOMARCHE belongs to the same group as INTERMARCHE (supermarkets), VETIMARCHE (cheap clothing) and NETTO (hard discount grocery store).
Also in Switzerland you can find the German chain called HORNBACH in Etoy near IKEA.
