native Swiss will celebrate the day when we all leave! :D
Geneva survived the departure of the League of Nations so it will no doubt cope if ever the UN agencies up sticks for new pastures.
It would merely be a change of pace (and “culture”) in the history of a hub that has seen more than one rub a dub.

Ha,
Well BMW and Mercedes dealers will have to put the key under the door, the UN building would become a national heritage museum, CERN will become a theme park with a 27 km long fun ride underground or possibly a metro to serve all the localities in the area and vicinity...
May all this never happen because an International organization is what makes Geneva....well Geneva really...?
And besides what constitutes an appropriate developing country city?

One has to ask how appropriate Geneva has been as a location for most of the International organizations for some time. Tax exemptions are available in most countries and staff and infrastructure costs would be enourmously cheaper in all but two or three countries in the world.

Research suggest that should this happen, Geneva will become just another pretty Swiss town and there will be an exodus of thousands of expats back to their home countries.

Find out where glocals will relocate to and the international organisations will follow.
However it looks as if glocals will stay so the question is irrelevant
