What's the available time for construction work at home in Geneva?

Hi all!

My neighbour is doing construction work in his apartment, which is right next to mine.

And he makes a lot of noise because he uses drills, grinding machines and other noisy tools.

So I'd like to know what's the available time for construction work at home in Geneva.

I think it varies from city to city. I had a look on the "Ville de geneve" website but didn't find anythin useful.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks Oonagh, I went to the website you mentioned and called the number.

The lady told me it should be possible between 7am till 9pm, anyway her relevant colleague will call me back to be more precise.

I thought the limit would have been earlier than 9pm, considering how early swiss people go to bed and that you can throw litter until 8pm.

Hi Filippo, i think there is no way your neighbour can do construction work until 9pm, there must be a cut of time for heavy work.

I found this link:

http://www.bafu.admin.ch/laerm/10526/10527/10989/?lang=fr

See it says no building between 12 to 13 h and 19 h to 7 h and weeeknds & public holidays.

Thanks again!

This has to do with outside construction work I guess, so not sure if it applies 100% to inside works.

It says that during those hours the protection against noise must be increased, but not that you can't work on those hourse...am I right?

That's a good thing anyway ;)
