When rent an appartment, how does the 'other charges' work?

Hi

Can anyone help me on having the correct understanding of the above question?

When we rent an appartment, it often quotes 'other charges' in addition to the monthly rental fee. Are they usualy for heating and water? Because I got different bills from SIG for electricity(?)

I was told by the agent the part of 'other charges'  will be calculated by end of the year depends on my real consumption. Is it true? Can anyone kindly share any experience? Thanks!

That is right, "additional charges" reffers to water and heating.

You pay a monthly ammount and the final annualitiy is corrected at the end of the year taking into account the real consumption, I think from the whole building, in equal parts.

In some cases charges are not included in the rental and paid separately by each neighbour, corresponding with the real and consumption.
