Not sure about Geneva, but if you have a car or someone can give you a lift Jims British Market in St Gennis-Pouilly will more than likely have Bovril.

The small ‘Casino’ in the centre of Divonne used to have it, but haven’t checked lately.
Good luck, R.

I went to the Carrefour in Ferney Voltaire today and found something similar MARMITE. It tastes very smiliar. I found it in the Foreign food section, bottom shelf.
I think that is what Charlie was talking about..
Many thanks!

If you like ‘Marmite’ – which is similar but not the same as ‘Bovril’ – you can find it in Geneva in the big Coop supermarkets such as Eaux-Vives 2000, Coop City Fusterie, La Praille, among other places.
Best, R.

If you like Bovril, you should try our Swiss Cenovis, a local tasting experience not be missed. I love it, as most of my Swiss friends do, but few foreigner can stand its quite peculiar taste.

Marmite, Vegemite, Cenovis – I eat and like them all.
But I think our taste buds retain particularly fond memories of the food that Mum gave us when we were growing fast and always hungry.
Could this perhaps also be the reason why some husbands still consider Mum’s apple pie (or whatever) is the very best even though their loving partner has followed the recipe and the method to the letter?
But not to worry. In time, her children will think she’s the very best.
Hope so anyway – and happy Mother’s Day to all Mums reading this.
