You used to be able to buy unclaimed bikes from near the driving licvence vehicle testing place at Bout de Monde but choice is limited. Other wise bewteen there and carouge centre there are a couple of shops. But think somebody else will come up with more detailed upo to date info

I found the prices of a new bike at GO Sport in France significantly cheaper than at the stores in Switzerland, and you could even wangle to get the VAT back.
JUst remember to get a really decent lock, not one of those crappy CHF 20 things that the thieves snip in 2 seconds. Great, one less car on the road !

Pro-velo (http://www.provelogeneve.ch/) organise 2nf-hand bikesales from time to time. I think you might be slightly late, they had one last week-end, and don't know if there are any other plabbed for this season. Sorry

If you want, my ex is selling his...you need to have it repaired : wheel and new seat...but it is good quality and since he is moving back to germany he is selling it cheap...and you can have it repaired very easily.

Second-hand bikes in Geneva are often of about the same price or even more expensive than a brand new shiny one in France nearby Geneva, as Poster posted above. Closer to Geneva, you can find such new bikes at Carrefour in Ferney, a large shopping centre, 10 min by car / 20 min by bus from Geneva, where you can find one around EUR100-200 - but there the choice of bikes are rather limited compared to a proper "bike shop" - it is a shopping centre after all.

There is a used sports good store in Carouge: SOLD-SPORTS 50, Avenue Cardinal-Mermillod 022-301-8071 - they have lots of used bikes. Good luck!
