I'm looking to buy a gas BBQ. Any suggestions on where to look. I've seen some at Jumbo, but just wondering if there are other stores around, especially ones closer to downtown.
Thanks!

hmmhhhh, a bbq man!
good thing, a bbq. you will find a good choice at the migros la praille in carouge, a big migros center. aletrnatively there is another jumbo in coppet, first motorway exit after direction lausanne. they usually don't have the same choice of things.
but, man. why not buy a real charcoal bbq? i know, more work and sweat. but worth it...

If you want gas - I'd go Weber....as for close to GVA no idea, but I hear Schilliger has a nice selection....they are in Gland.

Jardiland in Ornex, France had some very impressive bbqs the last time I was there.
And I'd venture to guess that the prices are better this side of the border.

Hi all,
May I suggest mail order... I have recently discovered the website (with 2 'p') where once you know WHAT you want to buy (ie brand + model number) you usually get THE LOWEST price in Switzerland: not just the cheapest of all stores (found digital photo camera -20-30% cheaper than at FNAC or MediaMarkt) but the cheapest of online stores, as it compares all CH online prices. It goes for electronics, but also (funny) for bbq's!
So, go have a look at Migros Garden Centers, La Praille, Chene-Bourg, or wherever, write down the model and price, and compare that with your results on Toppresise. Not only will you get the cheapest deal you can find, but they deliver right to your door via the Post for free. The box is HUGE, so I prefer this option. Then build it, and go get a tank of gas, fire it up, and you're ready to grill!
Cheers, Patrick

I just wanted to post a final thanks to all those provided some great advice. It was much appreciated. After all the looking I ended up finding one at the Fust just down the street from my place. They had a great sale on and I was able to borrow their cart to wheel it home. Plus it was made in Canada so I was a bit biased. About to enjoy my first BBQ of the season!
Cheers,
Collin

I have a second hand Garden Elite BBQ to sell if anyone is interested? I'm putting a description with photos under the classifieds section.
