Where to buy a printer?

Hi everybody, as I started my university courses this week, I have realised the need for a printer at home.. Where can I buy a good-quality one in Geneva? Second-hand would be ok as well. I mostly will use it for printing out reading materials, and do scanning, so no other fancy functions are needed. Thank you in advance for your suggestions!

Check the classifieds section. If nothing exist there, go to WRS website, under classifieds.

Just a word of advice, printers are so cheep nowdays that for CHF 50- to 100- will get you a HP printer/scanner, newest software, and the toner cartridges, and a year or two Guarantee.

If you buy a used one, it will often cost you quit alot for the cartridges and in the end, it woud cost day as a new printer. and without guarantees, etc.

Just go to Media Markt in Meyrin or Arcasias/carouge (rue arcasias direction bernex)

If you go for a lazer printer, then make sure includes the scanner. Also check out comparison websites to see which printer and cartridges are the most economical over time.

Thank you all so much for the advice! Indeed I think it makes sense to buy a new one which comes with guarantee.. I will do a bit research on the websites you recommended first. Many thanks again, really appreciate it!!

InterDiscount chain all over town. They always have specials.

Also: www.1000ordi.ch and www.prodimex.ch. Both are along the Route des Jeunes near the stadium.

If you want to save money, get a laserprinter and not an inkjet. They may cost you a little more (i.e. 150 vs. 100 CHF), but you will earn that back quickly because your prints will be 5 times cheaper. Consider just buying a black&white one if you really only use it for your studies, and if you want to save even more money.

I got an HP b&w laserjet printer at Interdiscount for chf69.90. The cartridge included with the printer prints up to 700 pages, so I'm still using that.

Good luck!

check out www.prodimex.ch

They are in Geneva, route des Jeunes. Cheap inkjets are expensive to run. Black and white laser printers are the cheapest to run.
