Where to buy non-Swiss Train Tickets?

Hi,

Does anyone know if you can buy train tickets via the web for a train trip that does not start or end in Switzerland (i.e. from Prague to Berlin)? I looked at RailEurope.com but these tickets don't seem to be available for people living in Switzerland. I also tried the SBB website and requested a price quote but I'm not sure if they'll get back to me.

I'm just wondering if there is an alternative to going down to Gare Cornavin in person (hopefully that is actually an option as a last resort).

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Rail Europe is extremely expensive, and usually once you select American as your nationality you will be redirected.  I would assume you would need to buy here

I am avoiding my homework and did a quick search. For this ticket you need to either call or email

Kontaktní centrum Českých drah:

telefon: +420 840 112 113
e-mail: [email protected]

It says a 4 hour travel with a connection in Hungary.  I did this when I was living in Vienna and had to buy tickets out of town, and never had problems not being a resident before.

Yes, if you buy it on the Czech website you will save maybe 10-15 euros as opposed to buying it on the German one... It is likely to be possible to buy it via SBB but thats gonna be like a lot extra... Generally when buying train tickets for outside of switzerland its best to buy it on the local country's website. When I go home for holidays I often go by train and I go to Czech Rep. via Austria and it works best to buy it on the Austrian website for the whole way from Geneva all the way home.

http://www.studentagency.cz/

there is english version as well on this website, the buses are very comfortable, you can book your seat in advance for trips to many european countries, there is a steward, you receive a coffee, chocolate or tea, newspapers, there is a tv or you can listen to music.

Maybe for international bookings it may take a while, for national ones you get the confirmation immediately to your email. As a Czech, I would recommend you the bus over the train. The journey takes 4h30 the return price is 1250 CZK cca 63 CHF and the bus stops
