Where to hire a room in Geneva for dance parties ?

All the info I found on the web seems to be in French. :(

Where do people go when they want to hire space ?

Are there any good spaces in bars / restaurants that you can book for a group?

cheers for any info!

Try to use Google combined with Google Translate.

Also - what kind of dance? What size group? Are you looking for a club, a dance studio, a restaurant...? What's your budget?

Hi. It depends on the services you look for and the number of persons. Some restaurants and hotels of course can rent a room/ section or give it for free if you buy their drinks. But the other common venues are "sale communales" in your neighborhood. You need to ask the mairie of the commune where you leave or other as well, ( the one you live in are usually cheaper) and they may offer you a couple of rooms with different sizes. Often it includes some technical lightning and audio facilities. Etc... I hope this helps. Good luck. Joy B

Try asking at the “Mairie” of one or two local communes if their “Salle communale” is available.  However, requests from local residents are accorded priority over extramural applicants so, depending on the date you have in mind, you may not be offered much choice.

Some of the local protestant churches also rent out their “Salle de paroisse”.  These vary in size and facilities, i.e., equipped kitchen, fridge space, etc., but can be a reasonable alternative for a small group although not if you’re planning to dance until dawn.

In any event, hiring doesn’t come cheap as the fee will also include the cost of insurance, fire prevention nneasures, clean-up service, etc.

Good luck!
