Does anyone know where or happen to have a non-motorized wheel chair available for rent from around 1-August? Many thanks in advance!

I know that the pharmacy on 31 Decembre (just up from restaurant Cinecitta) offers medical equipment rentals. At least one of the pharmacists speaks English, so if your French isn't great, they'll still be able to help you.
I think they are very cleverly named Pharmacie du 31 Decembre and they are on 31 Decembre, so you can either walk down from the 9 bus stop or walk up from the 6, 2, and E.
Hope this helps!

The ‘Pharmacie du 31 décembre’ in Geneva is my local chemist and I’d like to confirm what Kate has posted. The chief chemist, Mr Gerstel, speaks English and so do other members of the staff. The shop has all sorts of medical aids for hire or sale and is very helpful in obtaining anything that doesn’t happen to be in stock – as, for example, when I needed bulky equipment for a respiratory infection. This was delivered and subsequently taken away when I’d recovered. Check their website for opening times, etc.
However, if their location is inconvenient for you, why not contact the ‘Pharmacie principale’ which has several outlets in and around Geneva, including Balexert, and lots of equipment on offer. Most of the larger pharmacies are also able and very willing to help.
Send me a p.m. if you need further suggestions.
All the best, Ritchie

Just to let everyone know the outcome. Contacted ‘Pharmacie du 31 décembre’ as suggested by the two kind posters above. Very helpful service. Cost of a wheelchair was CHF 50 per week, CHF140 per month. Contacted two large pharmacie chains and neither offerred wheelchairs for rent.
By chance, I also bumped into Madame Ritchie when collecting the wheelchair from Pharmacie du 31 décembre. A most delightful lady!
Thanks to all for the help.

Am quite covered in confusion but, yes, we did indeed meet in the Pharmacie although the ‘bump’ was purely figurative – just as well ‘cos I’m 5’¼" and the Kahuna’s a lot, lot bigger. (You’ve got competition, Nir!).
Anyway, everyone seems to be happy about the outcome which. once again, proves the value of this site, so lang may its lum reek.
Best to all, R.

Another possibility is Medi Phy Sa Cours de Rive 2 1204 Geneva, Switzerland Tel. 022 781 00
They rent all sorts of medical equipment, also weel chairs in different sizes, but they won´t speak English, "pas du tout".
