Where to run and get changed/have a shower on the right side of the lake (around "Montbrillant") ?

Hi,

During lunch times, I was used to run at "Le bout du monde" in Carouge and use the stadium change-rooms and showers that are open for the public ...

My company is moving to "Montbrillant" in 1 week.

Where will I be able to find the same solution to get changed, have a free shower, and a locker... ? Is there also any "open for public" stadium or any other open place ?

Where do you advise me to run on that side of the lake ? I like to run on earth in forests/nature, not on roads/tar/asphalt...

Thanks,

                  Damien

Not a lot of nature downtown Geneva buddy... You would need to go to the parc for that (Perle du Lac / Mon Repos). For the showers, as the weather is getting warmer, you can have a swim in the lake after ;) There, problem solved.

You should lobby your employer to provide showers. Tell them that inreased helath of employees lower absentism, so it's a good investment. Tell them alsio that if employees can also shower after biking to work, then it's good for the environment.

I also ran once with some ladies that declared taking cat-washes in the toilets after the lunchtime run. Never shared office with them, so don't know how efficient that was.

In fact now that summer is here, you can simply rinse off in the lake. I usually leave my clothes on the luggage rack of the bike, and it's never disappeared. (Might be less practical if you have a business suit, though.)

If you want something better, the Bains de Paquis, at 2CHF is not free, but might be affordable.

From the UN, I tend to prefer the country side of Pregny-Chambesy. (Up past the American mission). You should ask Swiss, who manages the Geneva Runners.

Or from Varembé, there are lots of interconnecting parks, the Parc Trembley, from there it's not far to the parc of Grand-Sacconex (whatever that's called.). All in all, there a surprising amount of greenery in the town of Geneva. Look at a sattelite picture.
