Where to take an Italian guy ???
Hi,

I've got a friend coming to GVA this week-end. He's Italian though.

He'd like to see the football match Italy vs Bulgaria Saturday night... can anybody of you recommend a good sports bar where we could watch the game? Ideally an Italian one ;)

Any good Italian restaurants around??? (non-smoking)

Further, any good ideas what to do with this guy in GVA? I want him to see more of GVA than just the touristic spots... but I'm running out of ideas :(

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks folks!

Just one suggestion... don't bring an italian to italian restaurants when he is abroad. We are very open minded from that point of view and we like eating what the place has to offer ;)

Ciao!

I agree... and usually an Italian is very demanding about Italian food (at least I am :) ). Why don't you go for a fondue? the season has already started and it's cold enough.

For the places to visit, for sure a walk along the lake either on the Rive Gauche till the Parc La Grange or on the Rive Droite till the Jardin Botanic, and also the Old Town shouldn't be missed.

jupp, that is clear to me...and i agree with you both. i thought the same... but he asked for an italian location... maybe cuz he's not living in italy at the moment... who knows?

the lake, the old town and the UN should definitely not be missed... sure thing. but i thought also of something less crowded and flooded by tourists... any ideas?

and no idea for a good italian spot in gva? or any sports bar at all?

thanks :)

for the sports bar I cannot help.

For a good Italian place, Da Paolo is one of the best. If you want a pizza, I strongly recommend La Vecchia Napoli, in the Jonction area, the best pizza I've ever eaten in Geneva, Italian ingredients and it's run by all Italians.

I strongly recommend to watch the  match in the

ASSOCIAZIONE REGIONALE PUGLIESI EMIGRATI (ARPE) indirizzo sede sociale: 20, av. Luserna 1203 GENEVE; tel. 022 345 84 44

It is the club of immigrnta from Puglia region  and it has a lot of atmosphere!
