Wireless Internet

I am currently using a Swisscom value card, but have to walk to a local hotel to access the hotspot.  Is there a way to get wireless internet in my flat (for cheap)?

hmmm, 'internet' and 'cheap' seem to be incompatible terms, but there are 3g adapters that you can get for your laptop with a monthly (?) contract. Not sure the price, but friends who have it say it's decent.

I've got another question, I've got a cable connection at home. But once and awhile I'm in France and there I would like to get internet. No connection available. Away from a city or village. Does anyone know to have an access by Orange or France Telecom who is not expensive and can be reloaded when needed?

Thanks

@smitty, You should check ou bouygues telecom (france).  they offer an interesting deal. As bouygues covers the most of Geneva area, you can use 3g stick to get access to bouygues in Geneva as well.  BTW, they offer unlimited usage of internet... about 30 euros per month.

Andy

I have a friend who asked one of his neighbours to get access via their wireless connection but share the cost. The arrangement is working well for him.

That way you have not set up costs, no contracts, and you pay for as long as you stay in that flat (but make it clear to your neighbour) ... and of course you probbaly have many neighbours with wireless ..

So it is a matter of kncoking on a few doors around you (next door, above, below) and assuring them that you will not be eating up their bandwidth (line capacity) with continuous videos or movie downloads ... of course suggest a test for a day or two so they can see there will be no noticable speed change for them.

Hope this helps.

Thanks to your proposals, I've found at the Nyon Sunrise store an offer for a 3G key. CHF 49,00 for the key and CHF 3,50 per day for the internet(no further charges)

As I have already internet through Sunrise and the part in France where I will use internet is just covered by Sunrise. So for me this option is a good an economical one.
