Hi all - a question on behalf of my son. We are arriving from Australia soon and would like to know if xbox purchased here in Aussie will work in Switzerland ? (along with Xbox live of course). If not then one presumes we need to purchase another ? Any ideas/comments would be greatly appreciated.

I came here from the UK and my xbox worked fine in switzerland. there may be a compatibility issue with the games if you buy them in switzerland, but not 100% sure on that. i now bought a xbox 360 in switzerland, but buy games from the UK as its much cheaper and don't have any issues.
as for xbox live, that should work without any issues as its just a matter of connecting your xbox to the internet which won't change when you get here, however you may need to change your settings on the xbox live account to re-adjust for the fact you're in switzerland once you arrive. hope that helps!

European consoles have whats called PAL (europe region), whilst america and japan have NTSC (america and japan region). Only Pal games will play on Pal consoles and Ntsc will only play on Ntsc consoles. To find out if your console is PAL or NTSC there should be a small rectangular box with PAL or NTSC on the box of the xbox or on the spine of the xbox 360 game case.
