Sorry, but that won't work as a money saving strategy. It is the doctor's responsibility to tell you of the potential risks, whether or not you tell them that you already know. As a health professional, they have to be sure you are making an informed decision about any treatment including vaccinations. You would be amazed at how many patients tell their doctor or nurse they know all the risks, but then when we actually have the conversation with them we find out they only have partial information - usually what they read on the internet which was not necessarily true, complete, or relevant.

I do not consider 100 CHF particularly expensive, given that it's a once in a lifetime expense.

Thank you all for the info and personal thoughts on vaccines. just FYI, the travel vaccine clinic in Lausanne at the Hospital is open from 8am - 11am on Saturdays. I got the vaccine and all is well.
