Hi reffael, u need a business partnership between 2 individuals in Switzerlad its possible to do so in your case. All u have to do is arrange for a lawyer who will form a company for u. Its called Pvt. Ltd in English, GmbH in German and Sarl in French. UR lawyer will charge his/her fee and apply for the registration. U will need CHF 20,000/- as a bank deposit for the process and will have to get a name for the company to do so. Taxation will start only if u earn, however u will still have to file for tax returns every year, even if u have no income... Hope this was useful mate..!!!!! Poppy1

But basically, if you do not turn over more than chf 100k in a year, you do not have to register the business, but do pay taxes.
I found this link incredibly helpful http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=759852 when I was looking for info. When in doubt, ask google! The first part is geared toward Americans, but the rest is not.
My problem that was the biggest hurdle, was that my business did not grant me a work permit. I had to find other ways to obtain one.

[quote]Hi. I recenlty started a business with a Swiss partner. Now, we are quite small scale. But, we did not need the lawyer or 20k that is talked about above. Although, in the end I did have a lawyer check over it all to make sure I'm wasn't missing steps.

can someone who is not a citizen create such partnership with a swiss citizen?

Hi Reffael,
Non Swiss/EU individuals can participate in a joint company both as shareholders and directors. If however you also expect to work for the new company in Switzerland, then that becomes a work permit matter. The company would have to apply for it, justifying the 'economic importance' of the project.
I would do that first if I were you.
By the way, the 20000 CHF doesnt have to be all in cash .. some of it can be in other assets, which are given to the company. The formation costs shouldn't be more than 4,000 chf so the rest of the cash can then be used by the company.
I use a couple of decent and not too expensive accountants, if you need a suggestion.
Good luck with your venture !
Phillip
