advice on classes for birth preparation and caring for babies
Hello,

I am expecting twins for February and I would like any advice on good classes to learn how to handle babies (I have no idea!). More than breathing etc., I am looking for information on breastfeeding, handling babies, taking care of them after they are born.

Any good advice?

Thanks!

Stefi

Hi Stefi,

I dont know about classes that specifically help with baby care but we went to anti-natal classes at the Arcade de sage Femmes, plainpalais, ( [email protected] ) in english where you can ask anything you like and it was talked about a litle bit and its not all about breathing. But most importantly we met some great other new mums-to-be (and dads) and that is the best way to share ideas and experiences. We still meet up regularly nearly a year on.  If you are having your babys in a clinic then they are fabulous at teaching you all you need to know, I felt SO confident by the time we left (I had never even changed a nappy before my son arrived!) and their breast feeding support was great, I wouldn't have continued with it without them. All my friends who had their babies in the Hospital reported equally good care and your insurance covers a number of home visits by a midwfe.

I know this isnt exactly what you were looking for but I hope a little reassuring, feel free to get in touch with anything else I could help with. Good Luck
