best academic private french speaking schools in geneva

Dear All

My children are currently attending a PUBLIC school in france, at the maternelle with my daughter going to CP (one year before primary school)

We are very happy with the school in our village, have made friends with parents/children living in the neighbourhood. The school has an apparent high level of education that requires homework, etc. Through work we have been given the option of enrolling our children into a PRIVATE French speaking school in geneva. Including Florimont, institut de Lancy, college du leman, international ecole de geneve, institut notre dame du lac among others,

I am interested in hearing from parents with children in those schools who have first hand experience. Also undecided as to whether it is worth it to sacrifice the current good small family school where everyone knows everyone and friendships are likely to remain during the whole of primary school, with the prospect of going to the big city of geneva, to large schools, with large rotation of international students which result in disruptions in friendship as international families stay in geneva for short term assignments. Also is difficult to understand how our academically good local, PUBLIC french school compares with a good international PRIVATE french school in geneva? whether beyond the larger campuses/facilities merit the inconvenience of not having any local school friends nearby and the travelling everyday.

lastly from reading about it in forums on the internet, it is apparent some of these schools faced serious problems of discipline, with very challenging situations including violence, bullying, and abuse taking place in the past and would like to know whether these were isolated events or whether there are still concers in these areas today .

Very grateful for all your feedback, lacuchi

to clarify the ambiguity on my last paragraph and loose/inacurate use of english, I understand all the schools mentioned above to be excellent in academic and other areas as well. Reported news/discussions forums available on the internet I mentioned I read refer to an event going back nearly 10 years ago and in (a) school so to use (some) is inacurate/incorrect, Apologies for this. Of course all schools inevitably face challenging situations from time to time from which they learn and adjust their policies and procedures accordingly.

So to rephrase my question: what has been your experience of the atmosphere of the school experienced by students/parents today regarding antibullying policies, respect, etc

Thanks for your feedback
