I have British friends who make cakes, but next week is rather short notice, especially as Monday's a holiday.

However, if you let me know how big the cake should be and exactly when i's needed, if it has to be delivered (and where), I could ask them if they can help.

I don't know of any bakers who make traditional birthday cakes.  Most people either make their own or order them from folk they've got to know.  One way to do this is to visit the English-speaking churches at Christmas time when they have traditional home-made Christmas cakes, etc., on sale.

Hey, I know the best bakery and they do a "pavé aux fraises", it ' s a strawberry birthday cake. They are called Patisserie Mage.

They can do it for the following day and it looks beautiful and is excellent. Little inconvenient, quite expensive... Let's say a cake for 8 people with a niceription would be between CHF 6.- and CHF 80.-..... Just ask them when you call, just not be surprised...
