bookstore (or book store)

Hi - looking for a Geneva bookstore that offers hiking / biking guides for around the area. I'm planning to stop by the tourist office to see if they have any books. I've heard that there are good books for Lac Leman area but not sure where the best bookstore for this type of material would be. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you in advance!!

Hi there,
I saw quite a few books in:
Librairie Payot SA Rive droite
rue de Chantepoulet 5, 1201 Genève
which is close to the station. I think the other Payot in town center also has a good choice. There may be some specialized shops with travel literature only. Don't know, as I am quite new here as well....
Have fun

Yes, you're right. There is a quite good one opposite of the Ochsner shoe store, close to the banque cantonale. They have a good choice of local things.

A specialized shop would be the best option, I guess. Terre d'Aventures near Rue de Carouge has a nice selection of guide books and maps, but almost French only.

Thanks for the suggestions. It ended up that I went to the adventure store (great selection of items!), but they didn't have the book I want which is a book in French on hiking in the area of Lac Leman (Guide de Randonnees). They referred me to another adventure / outdoors store in Carouge just by the Place d'Armes. Great place with lots of equipment, but no book. I guess it must be a favorite and is out of stock all over the city.
