can u live in geneva with a french health insurance?

I heard swiss insurances are expensive picky and not all that good, however I heard excellent comments about french health insurances and they are cheaper.

I am married to a European union citizen who works here for the UN, so I won't really need like a visa or temporary permit to live in this place, I am more under diplomatic rules or whatever u call it.

I'll be here until 2012 (not looking to stay longer hehehehe) but I do need health insurance!

I might get a job later on, but right now I don't have one.... I'm sponsored by my partner's government but since I am not a citizen from that country I need private health insurance

would I have a problem?

if youre here longer than 3 months...ie travel insurance... then yes you need swiss health insurance... if you get sick here, and need treatment and have no insurance it will cost you a small fortune.I believe its the law to be resident here and insured.

If in doubt just buy the cheapest you can find.
