clothes for charity

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a charity shop i can donate clothes and various bits to in Geneva?

While clearing out my place i've found i seem to have accumulated LOTS of clothes. There is nothing wrong with them and i dont want to take them all home with me - so wondered if there was anywhere i could donate them?

Thanks

Paul

Unless one has reservations towards the Catholic church, Caritas has several shops in Rue de Carouge (going from Plainpalais to Carouge, on the left hand side starting from tram stop "Pont d'Arve").

Another option - in many places where there are containers for recyclables, there are also big above ground containers for collecting clothes, shoes, even blankets I think.

The Centre social protestant has several shops that take and sell clothes.  Google for details.

The Salvation Army (Armée du Salut) has a big outlet on route de Chêne (near the ‘Gare des Eaux-Vives’) and a container on the street where you can leave stuff outside of opening hours.

There are also the ‘Vet’ shops run by the Red Cross.  And a shop in rue Maunoir in the Eaux-Vives that also sells second-hand clothes and other goods, including glassware, costume jewellery, etc.

Good luck !  R.

Hello,

You can give them to Emmaüs, in Carouge. Or call them @             +41 22 301 57 57 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting            +41 22 301 57 57      end_of_the_skype_highlighting      ramassage@emmaus-ge.ch.

Adresse : Route de Drize 5 1227. They can often collect furnitures and clothes.

You also have those big white or yellow boxes that are disseminated generally next to recycling in parks, public places...

The following link has more info than what you may need:

Thanks for thinking about charities.
