make sure that all your virus definitions are up to date. Also make sure you have an up to date version of Ad-Aware. I usually find that by updating these two programs and then running them that I am able to clear off all the crap that gets into my computer and gunks it up.
Beyond that, all I can say is buy a Mac. I have a PC laptop for surfing and a math class. Everything else I do on my mac.
You might check at a computer tech school to see if they offer a clinic of some sorts so that their students get experience. They would most likely not charge CHF150. Good luck. I'd sooner lose a limb than my internet/computer access.

well, i answered my own question and went to Techelp. They were wonderful (see my 'local review'). They can definately help you with speed/performance issues. give them a call at 022 738 01 38.
